As Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for one or more
vertical market applications for DataDirect Networks' storage products.
Your primary focus will be to understand various customer use case
scenarios, determine the appropriate DataDirect product offering, and
develop the market opportunity through the creation and execution of a
marketing plan and supporting collateral. This position requires a
blend of technical and business skills, with the ability to clearly
write and present to groups. You will work in both existing markets and
help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your
contact with customers and prospects. You must enjoy spending time in
the market to understand customer requirements, be able to understand
what customers are trying to achieve or solve with respect to their
computing and storage systems, and develop proper messaging and tools
to articulate DataDirect's value proposition.
You will serve as the internal and external evangelist for your market
segments and must be able to communicate effectively within all areas
of the company, particularly with product management and sales. You
must be able to effectively position and present product functionality
and competitive differentiators to partners, customers, sales and
others. You will help to define the go-to-market strategy, product
positioning, key benefits, and target customer segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specify and implement all marketing IT tools, including but not
limited to website, sales force automation, quoting and configuration,
and demand generation.
- Develop and execute segment-based marketing plans and programs.
- Create supporting collateral for the marketing programs such
as sales scripts, presentations, white papers, application notes, and
customer case studies.
- Work directly with customers to understand their application environments, business and technical problems.
- Identify industry events, journals, and other vehicles to reach your target markets with the appropriate messaging.
- Perform product presentations to customers. Brief and train the sales force at sales meetings. Act as the segment expert.
- Identify strategic partners within each segment and bring them online.
- Develop the core positioning and messaging for DataDirect's solutions within each market segment.
- Identify trends within the market segments and work with
product management to develop new features and product offerings to
take advantage of them.
Education and Skills Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge in storage technology - RAID, file systems, SAN, NAS.
- 5+ years of marketing program management experience.
- Strong knowledge of storage technology Ð RAID, file systems, SAN, NAS.
- 5+ years of product marketing experience.
- Computer Science or Engineering degree and MBA highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success conducting end-to-end marketing campaigns and developing new customer segments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
