Position Summary:
DataDirect
Networks is seeking Sales Account Executives for US High Performance
Computing Sales to work directly in the development of new customer
accounts and OEM relationships, providing the customer with appropriate
solutions and product knowledge according to their business needs. The
Executives will also suggest clear and accurate options and solutions
to the customer with the goal of increasing business. These positions
will be located on the West Coast with territories extending into the
Pacific Northwest and Mid-West.
Position Functions:
Responsibilities include:
- Understands the sales process in the High Performance Computing industry and how to utilize company resources to close accounts.
- Develop sell-through strategies and leverage both internal and customer resources to reach goals.
- Develop a substantial knowledge of the company's SAN appliances product line.
- Develop a strong understanding of the customers' technology
infrastructure, strategy and business requirements with the goal of
increasing DDN business opportunities.
- Develop strong, cohesive working relationships with other DDN Sales
staff and Sales Engineers in conjunction with technical support
staff---manage team selling effort at customer sites as required.
- Develop innovative solutions to customers' business needs
- Create and present comprehensive proposals to clients
- Effectively closing sales opportunities.
- Will work via phone and in person, on and offsite.
- Travel will be required, an estimated 40-70% domestic
- Strategic thinker that is heavy on execution and delivery of results.
- Ability to multitask with multiple objectives.
- Excellent presentation skills, product knowledge.
- Skilled Negotiator.
- Articulate and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
BSEE or equivalent preferred
The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:
- Mininum 5-10 years selling experience in a HPC technology environment.
- A strong, working knowledge in Networking, Storage Area Networks, or Fiber Channel technology, is required.
- Some knowledge of UNIX and Microsoft NT is also required.
- Storage Area Networking, RAID, Infiniband or Fibre Channel products industry preferred.
- Experience in working with company resources to close account opportunities.
- Experience identifying and qualifying new accounts is required.
- Excellent communication skills including relationship building, presenting and selling.
- Teamwork, determination, perseverance, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to win.
