Position Summary:
Develop and manage inside sales team. Work with Sales Management to
hire, develop process and infrastructure for qualified leads to outside
sales groups. The ideal candidate is a hunter with a consultative
selling approach, building sales pipeline, generating qualified sales
appointments for the field sales team as well as assisting in closing
deals. This person has a strong passion for customer success and will
focus on all vertical markets.

Position Functions:
- Identify prospective customers for DDN, communicating the company
value proposition, establishing customer qualification, and securing
initial customer network assessments and field sales call.
- Transition prospects to field sales at the time of qualification and provide assistance in the relationship hand-off.
- Respond to inbound leads in a timely and professional manner,
with the goal of ensuring DDN's message is accurately delivered, and
any opportunities to sell products to the customer is uncovered.
- Work with marketing to execute marketing campaigns, and provide feedback on the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Work with sales teams to support all activities in region or
market Research and profile targeted companies to identify key
contacts.
- Generate qualified leads and set sales appointments for field sales team and channel partners.
- Track and document activity within sales automation system (Salesforce.com)
- Report results to management.
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
- 6+ recent years of inside sales experience in
storage/networking/technology sector selling at multiple levels
(C-level, VP and director levels)
- Proven track record in cold calling, converting to qualified leads. Ability to make 70+ calls per day.
- Proven success in developing and closing business over the phone.
- Strong track record of delivering measurable results and consistently exceeding quota.
- Good knowledge of storage and networking markets and technologies.
- Experience working with channel partners.
- Experience working with CRM systems - preferably Salesforce.com.
- Self confident and team player. Adaptable to changing market
conditions and customer requirements. Balanced approach to problem
solving between analytical and intuitive. Excellent interpersonal and
written and oral communication skills.
