- S2A technology makes it possible to scale single system throughput performance up to 6GB/s in a single system during both read and write operations. Unlike other storage systems which are designed for small, random file transactions, S2A technology is highly optimized to rapidly read and write large files and file formats. This result of this innovation is that systems managers can deliver more performance on a GB/s per TB basis and deploy less systems to meet program performance objectives. DDN is ushering in a whole new era of affordable storage technology optimized for key government applications.
- Leveraging high-speed parallel FPGA parity processing technology and massive internal system and disk bandwidth, S2A technology ensures extremely high levels of both performance and quality-of-service. Unlike conventional storage systems that experience performance degradation or data unavailability during a drive/channel/enclosure outage, S2A storage platforms are able to intelligently handle spurious system HW issues and provide real-time access to data even while making system corrections or operating in a degraded mode. - S2A platforms are designed to hold up to 1,200 disk drives in a single unit. With 2 TB drives, the S2A9900 storage system is capable of managing 2.4PB of storage within a single system. This massive scalability is ideal for applications such as backup/restore, online archive and online ingest systems.
